Collaborative Law

a couple in discussion

Collaborative law is fast becoming an important alternative for many couples faced with the repercussions of a relationship breakdown. We offer collaborative law services as an alternative to court proceedings and fully endorse the Resolution code of conduct for dealing with all family matters in a non-adversarial way.

Originally developed in the United States Collaborative Law is suitable for divorce, dissolution of Civil Partnerships and disputes between nonmarried co-habitees.

The process resolves issues relating to children and finance. Through a series of four-way meetings between lawyers and their advisors the aim is to find a creative solution in a constructive and positive manner, whilst avoiding the adversarial approach of litigation.

At Steeles Law we see ourselves as pioneers in this new and developing area of law.
